During the winter months, Kimberley is transformed into a snow-covered wonderland perfect for snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, dog-sledding, tobogganing and, of course, beginner to expert alpine skiing and snowboarding. 

Kimberley Alpine Resort
Located in BC’s spectacular Purcell Mountains, Kimberley Alpine Resort is known for consistent snowfalls, short lift lines, varied terrain and an abundance of sunny days. The mountain boasts 68 runs plus a large gladed area sure to satisfy all mountain enthusiasts from the novice to the experienced.

Kimberley Nordic Club
The Kimberley Nordic Club’s expanded trail system offers a first class facility consisting of a variety of groomed trails complete with double track, single track and a centre skating lane to accommodate all levels. The facility includes a comfortable lodge, the idea place to warm up after night skiing.

Kimberley Snowmobile Adventures
These uniquely Canadian snowmobile and snowcat tours promise breathtaking views of the Rockies and the Columbian Valley. Complete with hot chocolate, they are fun for the whole family. Kids ride free.


Walking, Running & Cycling Routes

The Kimberley area includes hundreds of kilometers of trails for local and visiting outdoor enthusiasts. They offer a wide variety of recreation opportunities including biking, hiking, blading, equestrian riding and sightseeing.

Kimberley Nature Park
Kimberley Nature Park is one of the largest municipal parks in Canada. Located entirely within the City boundaries, its varied terrain and diverse ecosystems provide endless opportunities for recreation and education.

Cominco Gardens

The local Cominco Gardens, located at 306 3rd Avenue, Kimberley, are a pleasant after dinner walk from the house. Enjoy the local flowers May through September.

Peak to Platzl Trail

Take a walk along the newly completed platzl to peak pathway and enjoy a meal or beverage on the deck up at the ski hill. (1 hour to top)


Skateboard & Bike Parks

These public recreation facilities are open for skateboarding, mountain biking, BMXing, trick scootering and rollerblading during the summer months. With a wide variety of ramps, verts, bowls and rails, the parks work to bring several disciplines together while hosting specialized events such as the annual July Longboarding Competition.

Cranbrook to Kimberley Rails to Trails - Bike Path

The start of the Rails to Trails bike path is minutes from the house by the Aquatics Center and the Kimberley Arena. This beautiful paved path winds 25 kilometers through Marysville and down through the river valley to Cranbrook.


Kayaking & Water Sports

With canoeing, kayaking and white water rafting, there are great opportunities to try your hand at a new water sport in Kimberley. The many lakes and rivers also offer fly fishing, paddling, angling and swimming.
